Family Art Project using Handprints..

I had been wanting to do a Family Art Project and I decided Easter was the perfect time.. :0)

So I picked out 2 colors.. a lighter shade of lime green and turquoise, got some brushes, and 4 pieces of a heavier weight 12x12 paper.

and I asked everyone to paint something 'randomly' with the 2 colors.

So after we all slapped some sort of paint design on each of our papers,  I then painted everyone's right hand black, and then we all put our handprint onto our personal 'artwork'.. :0)

I bought 4 black photo frames that are 8.5" x 11" in size.(that were actually made for documents.)
I opened them up and removed the paper insert. Then I used the insert to measure where to fold our 12x12 size artwork, so they would fit nicely into the frames.

I didn't want to cut them down to size, I would rather just fold it to fit and keep them as is.
However you could easily cut it to size if you wanted to.

After getting them all placed into frames.. I hung them up.

The black frame really makes the handprint stand out, and I love the pop of color. :0)

The whole project took about 5 minutes.. (keep in mind my kids are teenagers)   and I am
very happy with how it turned out.. a unique, one of a kind, art display that means a lot to me.

Plus, if I do ever happen to decide to change it up, I will be able to keep the 'artwork' and use it in a scrapbook album.
