Strawberry Ice Smoothie...

I finally came up with a smoothie type of recipe that my family enjoys..

I decided to start making smoothies as an occasional
healthier alternative to snacks, dessert,
or possibly even breakfast, because I am not the best at eating breakfast everyday. :0(

Well, I have had a few hits and several "it's ok" (aka: misses) :0)

However,
This one... is... good...

I must admit it may not be the healthiest smoothie out there..
but I suppose that it still trumps eating cookies. :0)

I don't have exact measurements.. it is just a this/that type of recipe but here is a general
idea... and we have made them a couple times now and they were equally wonderful each time.

I place a handful of ice cubes (about 3/4 cup), about 1 cup of Vanilla Yogurt,
about 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries and a splash to less than a 1/4 cup of this...

Sparkling white grape juice. (non alcoholic)

Turn the blender on and let it rip...
(until the strawberries and ice have been pulverized into smoothie goodness)

That is all.. simple, and we all like it so it is a winner in our recipe book.

(I imagine the consistency would depend on the blender, and how well it can chop/crush ice etc..
just in case anyone is wondering I use a Ninja BL700)

Do you have any great smoothie recipe's?

  2. That sounds and looks really yummy Tina! I would have never thought of the sparkling grape juice. I make green smoothies when I am trying to eat healthier. They sound gross, but are actually really yummy! I may have to give yours a try someday. BTW...do you like your Ninja? They look like they work really well. Have a wonderful Wednesday and Thanksgiving!

    1. Hi Vicky,
yes.. I am really pleased with the Ninja BL700... it does a good job chopping up ice/frozen fruit. I had a cheaper blender before and it just couldn't handle that.. :0) I wanted a vitamix, but couldn't bring myself to the price tag that was attached to it, and this one was recommended by 2 of my family members that had this particular one. I have really only used it for smoothies.. but I think it works really good for what I wanted it for. :0) Hope that helps...
