My Craft Room Reveal...

I have made a lot of progress on my Craft room / Office combination room over the past couple of weeks... and I am very pleased with how it has turned out.

There are a few things I still want to do, but for the most part it is a completed project.

This room changed several times to get to this point.. lots of furniture arranging,
organizing, goopy wallpaper glue...

Yep, it even included deciding to use textured, paintable wallpaper on the walls.

I also debated on what color I wanted to paint the room.
Eventually I decided to paint it all white, and let the furniture/accessories
be the pop of color.

I am so glad I did, because it is such a bright and cheerful place to work now.

If you remember before, I had a large hutch on my table... it went elsewhere.
Then I moved my sewing desk beside it, in an 'L' shape.

Ahhh, the sewing desk... it has came a long way since I got it..
(see the details of this free desk makeover here)
You can also see what is inside my sewing desk and how it is organized HERE.

I put my sewing/embroidery machine underneath the desk, which gives
me extra surface area to work on with scrapbook designs, and so on when it isn't being used.

An assortment of frequently used items stayed on the craft table..
but there is so much space now, it is nice that none of it is in my way.

My new artwork which I am really loving.. you can see how I made it HERE.

and here is the Wall of Wow Organization... the hutch on top of of my organization
cubes.

This makes it so much easier to find what I am looking for... everything in it's place.
(and most of it is labeled)

My embroidery thread and most of my smaller sized ribbons organized in a small
plastic drawer container, and I have them organized by size... 3/8", 5/8", and 7/8".

There is an air vent in the floor by this wall, and since it's not an option to cover it...
(unless I don't want air conditioning/heat in this room - and I decided that I do..)
So to leave that open but to utilize every bit of this space that I can for organization...
I placed a side table that I had in between the 2 stacks of cubes.
The little table has drawers, is open underneath, and was the perfect size to stack
my project life scrapbooking supplies on.

Placed on top of the hutch are my 'Bargain Bins' where I store things that
I wanted to keep organized, but are not used quite as often.
(I still need to label a couple of them, but some are empty! Yay for empty storage space)

These cubes are pretty much genius... I have a spot for pretty much everything,
from shipping supplies, to ribbon, to beads, to scrapbooking items...  All neatly tucked away.

Just in case you don't remember the before... here is a quick recap:
I had the organization cubes in the closet, the hutch was on my table,
and my sewing station was against the wall, along with a bookshelf...
and it worked for the most part.

However, I realized when I analyzed the "before space" that I didn't really need the bookshelf..
so it went to the garage.
I wanted the closet space for something entirely different.. so I emptied it out.
I knew that I definitely needed more surface area for my work space,
so the cubes became the base for my hutch.

What 'made' the space for me (besides it functions sooo much better)
is going  from pale gray (drab) walls, to a bright and crisp white!
It makes the colors pop so much more, and is just a great place to spend some time.

The other side of the room is my new office space, which I am very happy with as well...
you can see all about that side of the room HERE.

Now it's time to use this space...
Have a great day.

I think white was the perfect choice for your walls...makes the colors pop! I can't wait to repaint my two green walls white in my craft room! Hopefully soon.
