Decor for the 4th

In seeing all the festive fourth of July accessories I thought it was time
to add a few special touches to our own home.

We spent last fourth of July in the hospital with our daughter (from the wreck we were in)
so we ended up missing all the fireworks and celebrations and goin on's..
so this fourth of July has even more meaning to it for us.
So Thankful!

So when I was in the store yesterday, I found these inexpensive items to add to our decor.

(The set of 2 bows were just .97 cents, and the star was only 1.97. )

I placed one bow on my grapevine wreath on the front door to spruce it up a bit, and
then played with the star and other bow debating where to put them around the yard.

I also made a rag garland out of scrap fabric in red/white and navy, I had seen a beautiful one on
another blog in such pretty colors and it sparked an idea to use some scrap fabric to make one
for my fourth of July decor.
(thanks for sparking the idea Vicky @lifeonwilliemaelane)

I used a scrap piece of red/white checked fabric and navy fabric.

Cut the fabric into long strips.

Then tied them onto a piece of rope.
Nothing fancy.. and only took a few minutes to make.

I hung it onto my rustic fence near the end of our driveway.. and also tried out the
bow/star to see what I thought of them added to it.

I love my rustic fence.. we also have a barbwire coil that I use for a rustic wreath
hanging here as well as a rope, and recently after cleaning out the garage we added
an old saddle that isn't good enough to use riding anymore.. but looks adorable on
my fence.. :0)  so fun.

Beside the back door I added a couple stars to the flower arrangement I have going on there.

I will probably see if I can find any more fun items to add to our 4th of July decor..
I really like these items:

They look like they'd be perfect..
Have a great weekend!
