I hope you are having a great week!
I thought it would be fun to put together some 4th of July holiday idea's using items from the Dollar Tree.
(mostly)
So let's get started!
I started with a large plastic platter that was shiny silver.
I knew I wanted to make a sign out of it and the shiny silver just wasn't what I wanted so I took it outside and used white spray paint.
I used my Silhouette to create and cut out a vinyl decal for my sign, and I chose to use "Happy 4th of July"
I placed the decal in the center of my sign and then used some black acrylic paint to give it a more
rustic look by just going over the edges and here and there lightly.
However, I did make the rim of the platter darker.
hot glue to attach it to my sign.
bottles of water or soda.
So I decided to try this white bin.
I had purchased some star foil garland at dollar tree so I simply hot glued it around the top of the bin
to dress it up.
I don't expect this will keep things cold like a cooler or ice chest would,
but I think it is cute and would work for a little while.
Mostly I hope to inspire you with idea's.. if you like even one thing I share in a post
then I am glad, and I hope they inspire you to think of other ways an item could be used
or repurposed.
The next idea was this large clear plastic bowl.
I thought it was the perfect size to use as a cover for a plate of cupcakes or snacks.
So I flipped it upside down and used a foam star as the handle.
You could certainly use a regular knob or something else, I just thought since this is for the 4th of July it would be fun to use one of the stars.
I also found a glass star, as well as a red, white, and blue candle at Dollar Tree so I put them on the table
as well as some fun and festive star print napkins. They had several designs but I chose the stars.
So takes a look at everything pulled together.
This isn't exactly how I would put it for the 4th of July, I would add in more items but I wanted to give you an idea of how these look.
I think they are a lot of fun, extremely easy on the budget,
and I am really happy with how the sign turned out!
And if you are wondering how I got it to stand up, I took the back portion off of an old picture frame and hot glued it to the back of my sign. 😜
