Sharing my Dollar Tree Christmas Truck Charm or Keychain

Good Morning!
Today I am sharing how I made a cute little red Christmas truck charm!

I really like dressing up my handbag with different charms, dangles, or even tassels.   I wanted
to make something new for the Christmas season that is quickly approaching using a red vintage
truck.

Searching online I just wasn't finding what I was wanting and then I remembered I had a package
of miniatures that I had purchased at Dollar Tree that has a small red truck so I decided to see
what I could come up with using it.

So I started by drilling a small hole through the truck from top to bottom.

I had several items ready to use for my project.   Beads, findings, ribbon/fabric, and my jewelry tools.

To turn my truck into a charm,  I used a 2" headpin and some glass beads and wire wrapped a loop
at the top.

I had thought about using some ribbon or fabric in my design but I changed my mind and chose to just
go with beaded components.

To build my charm, I used a large lobster clasp and a small piece of chain that I put together using a jump ring.

This particular lobster clasp is 29mm in size which will work just fine, I would prefer something a little bigger but I had this size on hand so I went with it.  :0)

I like using a clasp whenever I make a charm so that I can easily clip it on/off whatever I decide to use it on.

I had all my components ready, so I used some jump rings and started putting everything together.

I am loving how this little charm turned out.

Cute keychain!

I actually intended on using this charm on my handbag throughout the Christmas Season, however I don't normally use plastic charms on the dangles I make for that so I guess my slight concern on using it on one of my bags is if it could possibly have color transfer.. so if I choose to use it on a bag I will keep an eye on that, but I think it makes a really fun and unique Keychain!

I also think it makes a fun fancy little Christmas ornament on a miniature tree.
Could certainly change it up several ways.

Have a great week!

Blessings,
 - Tina
