DIY Project Ideas using Window Clings

Good Morning!
I purchased a sheet of window clings at Dollar Tree that I wanted to figure out some fun ways to use.

So today I am sharing what I came up with!

I thought this sheet of window clings was just so much fun for fall and I really liked the colors as well.

So I wanted to come up with some fun ways to use them instead of just putting them on a window.

The first idea that I had was using a simple picture frame that I had purchased at Dollar Tree.

I started by removing the back and the insert.

I used a sheet of scrapbook paper in the buffalo check print and cut it down to size to fit inside the frame.
I just used the insert as a guide to get the size I needed.

I got a piece of heavy weight card stock and placed the window cling on the card stock paper that I wanted to use for this project. I just cut a small border around the window cling to give it a matted look and I attached it with some clear glue.

Then I placed everything back into the frame and I think this is such a fun and simple way to dress up a window cling and give it a much higher end look.

💛 So fun!

The next idea that I worked on was using a sign that I had purchased at dollar tree as well.

I knew I wanted to use the same scrapbook paper in the back of the sign but didn't want the bright colors to show through so I started by painting over the design with white paint.
It took a few coats to get the coverage that I needed.

Then I cut the paper to size and used some glue to attach it to the sign.

I also painted a wood pumpkin ornament white to use on my sign.
It was from a package of 8 wood ornaments that I had purchased at dollar tree as well.

I added a small window cling to my wood pumpkin as well as a jute bow to cover the hole cutout and
added it to my sign.

A fun little decor piece for fall!

For the next project I used some wood blocks that I had on hand.

They were cut in a variety of sizes from a 2x4 and I had already sanded down the edges.  I had used these for another project but I had extra's on hand and thought they would work perfect.

So I started by painting them white.

When the paint had dried I used some clear glue to attach the window clings that I picked out and
then I chose to add a fun bow to the top of the wood blocks to decorate them a little further.

Love these!

The clear glue that I had used left a bit of a weird tint under the window clings, so I decided to try it again using mod podge to see if it was the window cling or the glue causing the tint.

No weird tint. :0)

So here is the comparison..
this one was using mod podge:

this one was using the clear glue:

I would choose mod podge for a project like this in the future, but I am still really pleased with how they turned out.  (The tint really isn't that noticeable unless you are really looking up close.)

The last idea for this post was dressing up some inexpensive jars to use as treat jars.
I bought these jars at dollar tree as well and thought they would be a fun little treat jar for fall.

So I chose a couple of the window clings for the jars and while this isn't much of a project, it is a fun way to add a little something extra into my decor.

I think these turned out so fun, simple and budget friendly additions to our fall decor!

I hope you enjoyed these ideas and if you'd like to see the video I have it up on my youtube channel here as well as below.

Have a great week!

Blessings,
