I really like being able to have different decorative pieces at varying heights.
I think it just adds so much more interest.
So I guess it is time for a diy project.. with a little nod to rustic farmhouse charm.
I wanted to make some wood farmhouse style display risers or trays but wanted something
fun to use as the feet to give them a little height.
I searched online until I found something that I thought would work perfectly and was also
budget friendly.
So I went through my scrap wood and found some pieces of wood that would work for my
project and got to work on it.
I used my sander to smooth out all the edges, then I took them inside and
painted them.
I started by making one and I liked it so well that I ended up making 2 because I had enough
'feet' to make 2 of them.
I painted one white, and the second one I added a little bit of gray to it for a slightly different look.
After the paint had dried, I used my sander again to smooth out any
paint marks and distress each piece.
Then I took them back inside again and using wood glue I put the feet on the bottom where I
wanted them to go.
After they had dried I had fun moving them around the house and seeing where I want to use them.
I tried it on my dresser with a wax warmer and some perfume, how cute is that?!
I also tried it on a table..
On my desk.. (this is the one with gray)
and to display my farmhouse fall pumpkin picture.
(can see that diy project here)
I think they are perfect for what I wanted.
They could be used for so many things and made in a variety of sizes, and colors or stains.
So versatile and fun!
In fact I ordered more of the wood feet, (*affiliate link)
because I am thinking about a few more of these in
different sizes, and I have another idea in mind for them as well.
I definitely want to make one in a dark wood stain so I have a darker option to use as well.
What do you think ~ should I make one that is done in a dark stain with white feet?
or dark stain with natural finish wood feet? I think I am leaning towards leaving
the feet natural wood.. but, I am ready for them to arrive so I can get to work
on it! 😉
Blessings,
- Tina

These look really neat and I am going to make me a couple, also. Awesome job you did. The gray one is my favorite.
