Low Dollar or No Dollars DIY Project... A Milk Jug Pumpkin

In wanting to add to my fall decor outside I decided to see if I could
diy a pumpkin of some sort..  for zero dollars.

I saw the newly emptied milk jug, and a new DIY project was born.

The No Dollar Pumpkin Project.

I got out a piece of scrap fabric, some paint, craft wire, twine, and some silk leaves.

I gathered the fabric up around the top of the jug and tied it off pretty tightly.
I used a piece of craft wire, but could use string/twine as well for this, anything that would
hold it securely.

Then I added a twine bow with a couple faux leaves that I had placed under the twine
to hold them in place.

Then I got out my acrylic paints and basically painted it imperfectly! :0)
I painted orange streaks on the bottom portion, and black on the top.

(You can weigh your "pumpkin" down by filling the milk jug with rocks, dirt, water, or whatever if you are using it outdoors like I am so the wind doesn't blow it away)

I had everything on hand.. so cost Zero.
It's unique, and has a cute country simple crafted kind of look.
I actually think this would be a fun (and inexpensive) project for kids.

You could probably use spray paint as well, or even fabric dye if you wanted a more uniform paint color on the 'pumpkin' or if you have fabric that is fall themed I think that would be a fun option..
but I kind of like the messy streaky look on this one.
