I have gotten quite a bit done around our home, and one of the projects I tackled was to make
a Christmas Bulb swag for my large lantern.
Lanterns are such a beautiful decorative piece, and can go with so many decorating styles...
and it is so simple to add a little something extra to for the season, or a holiday.
From tying a bow around the top, to adding a swag.. :0)
First I gathered up some Christmas ornaments, wire cutter/pliers, wire, hot glue gun, ribbon, and greenery.
(You could also use a heavy duty string instead of wire, such as twine etc.)
I cut a large loop for the swag out of my craft wire..
Before adding the ornaments.. you will want to place a tiny bit of hot glue to keep the tops on them.
Then simply string whatever ornaments you would like..
Then twist the wire fairly taught with your pliers...
Then I simply added a piece of greenery and ribbon..
And placed it on my lantern.
You can use extra ribbon to tie it onto your lantern if you'd rather not use the wire.
(just simply cut the wire short and bend it so it doesn't stick out/scratch it)
Here it is on my lantern.
Adds a nice decorative touch and you can make it as big or small as you'd like by adding more or less ornaments, adding in more ribbon, greenery etc..
Hope you have a great day.
