Anyone else?
I just need the weather to cooperate. :0)
I have a 'to do'/'wish' list a mile long..... and I keep adding to it.
So far I have completely overhauled all of my flower beds from start to finish.
Completely gutted them out, seperated plants that needed it, replanted,
and all new landscape fabric (where I wanted it) and new mulch.
No weeds and fresh new mulch.. it's a thing of beauty.
I have been wanting to change the yard up for a while, and I have
made it a priority to tackle the area's that are in view from the house as well as the other
projects that I want to do.
I decided that since I am putting all of this time, effort, $, and let's face it..
a lot of work (which i actually really enjoy) into our landscape,
that I want to be able to enjoy it when we are indoors as well as when we
are outdoors.
Because of this I made one of the front flower beds much bigger in scale.
It is directly in our view from the living room, so I really want it to stand out.
I added some dirt to make a berm for a lot more visual interest to this area and
I am really enjoying how it looks thus far..
it was so flat before. :0) Lol.
It is still a work in progress, and I am looking forward to getting my plants in here.
I did plant a climbing rose that I am excited about, which is under my new obelisk that
I recently picked up. (similar Here)
I also plan to put an evergreen of some sort here for added year round interest and
some height.. I am still trying to decide on what exactly I want.
Decisions, decisions.
I have also been working on adding more planting area's to the yard, among other things.
Here is a little snippet of my "To Do":
redo all the flower bedsmake the front bed larger/add some height (burm) to itnew flower bed by small lilac bush in back yard outside kitchen windowrelocate peoniesdivide/plant hosta's / iris etc.- dig up/relocate my smoke bush
- Plant Tree's! I am excited about this one!
- (research best tree's to plant near lateral line/water lines)
add a decorative rustic fence to backyard / plant row of arborvitae behind it- add decorative rustic fence along entire front yard (in progress!)
- decorative arbor for back yard (?)
- diy some hanging baskets to go along rustic fence
- rework the fire pit area
- a new large flower bed at front of house (in progress!)
new flower bed near fence/fire pit arearaise urns height/plant them up for springreplace older/add new solar lightsraised garden beds
That is just a small part of my list.. (my ever growing really long list)
I have gotten quite a bit done so far.
I do have my rustic fence finished in the back yard, and I planted 3 arborvitae behind it allowing
plenty of space for them to grow and still room enough to go around that section of the yard.
(if you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw it in the works)
I also have a good start on the much bigger fence that I am putting in the front.
I have all the posts in the ground, just have to finish hanging the others.
Loving it.
I am debating how many hanging baskets I want to place along the new fence when
I get it done, and I plan to DIY them (as of now anyway) so debating how I want
to make them/hang them etc...
and also debating on plants, and solar lights at every post or every other post.. hmm.
(more of those decisions I need to make)
Oh, and here is a picture of my latest plant haul..
Beautiful foliage.. so looking forward to being able to get these in the ground.
Warm temps are coming!
