DIY Red vintage Truck & Buffalo Plaid Ornaments

If you follow me on Instagram you know we got our first snow of the year.
I can definitely say I am not quite ready for winter.
However, I am working on my Christmas Tree and want to do a farmhouse theme this year,
so I chose to make some fun ornaments for my tree and this is one of
the cute ornaments that I came up with.

I ran across these mini ornaments of vintage red trucks hauling Christmas tree's
and thought they were perfect!  So I picked up several sets.
I imagine these will sell out quickly!

I wanted to give them more of a presence on my Tree so I got out a bag of
wood shapes, and since I am using a lot of black and white buffalo plaid I also
got some printed scrapbook paper to use.

I traced my shapes on the back of my paper,

Cut them out just inside the line, and using modge podge placed the paper cut out
onto my wood shapes.

After getting those done, I chose to paint the edges black with some craft paint.

Then I moved onto the best part.. adding my mini ornaments onto their fun new base.
I used e6000 to glue the cute little trucks on to my wood shapes.  I chose to leave the
little wire hanger on them, but they could easily be snipped off with scissors or wire cutters.

Then I simply cut a piece of jute twine and added a hanger to the back.

Let them dry.

Then placed them onto my tree.

So adorable!

I love these!
I could see using other mini ornaments for a project like this as well.
I will have to keep an eye on the mini ornament section from now on. :0)

Have a great weekend!
