A Floral Arrangement Made Using Plants from my Garden

(check out the corresponding video on YouTube Here)

Good morning!
I thought it would be fun to put together a new floral arrangement for my kitchen
from my own garden.

To start I decided that I wanted to use a mason jar as my vase.
To give it some fun color I gave it a coat of silver spray paint.

While that was drying I gathered some plants from around the yard.

I chose Zinnia's, Sunflowers, Coleus, Salvia, Sweet Potato Vine, and Penstemon.

My 'vase' was dry and ready to go by the time I finished getting my flowers gathered,
so it was time to see what I could come up with.

So I started with my wow factor first, the sunflower.. :0). Then I continued to add
to them.

I did actually work at a florist shop some time ago, and I did everything from
deliver flowers to design arrangements for all sorts of events.   So I know
the rules of using odd numbers and so on.. :0)
but I also think it is ok to just use what you like,
especially in a garden style arrangement for your own home.

It turned out so pretty!

I am loving the bright pop of color on our kitchen table..  it's nice to bring some of the outdoors
from my garden (that I spend so much time working on) indoors to enjoy as well.

What are some of your favorite flowers to use in arrangements?
