I have been working on my Christmas decorating around our home,
as well as getting started on several DIY Christmas projects.
For this project I wanted to make a fun wall hanging for my kitchen so I am working on
that today.
I will be using inexpensive items that I purchased to come up with a simple
design that has farmhouse style.
I picked up a wood tree, a wood JOY ornament, and a spool of white ribbon with snowflakes from dollar tree that I will be using, and I will also be using a sheet of scrapbook paper that I purchased at Hobby Lobby.
I simply traced my wood tree design onto the back of the sheet of scrapbook paper and cut it out.
Then I used mod podge to attach it in place.
I went around the edges with a black ink pad to darken the edges just a bit as well.
To use the wood JOY ornament, I removed the jute hanger by snipping it off
with my scissors, and then used hot glue to attach it in place onto the tree.
I really had a lot of fun idea's on how I could decorate this tree.. but ultimately I
wanted something with a simple and clean look for this particular project.
So I chose to add a simple bow to the top and I hung it on my pantry door in the kitchen.
While it is simple design, I still feel like it has big impact with the bold black/white buffalo
check background without being too busy.
I am loving how it turned out!
I have a lot of Christmas projects in mind that I will be sharing with you,
as well as many other projects.
In fact I am currently working on redoing my kitchen table and chairs and
I am excited to share that with you soon.. I am so happy with how it is going!
