June Grocery Haul Meal Plan and Meal Prep on a budget

I hope you are having a great week so far!

I am mixing things up a bit and sharing my Large Grocery Haul for the month, a little bit about my
Meal Plan and how I go about it, and some Meal Prep that I have gotten done so far!

I set a goal to try to spend $200 or less in the month of June for groceries.

I may blow it, but I am going to give it a try.. either way I will learn a few things,
and I can certainly try again next month! 😆

We have 3 adults in our home, my husband, myself, and our daughter.
We also have different dietary needs currently.. I am choosing to eat low carb, and our
daughter gluten free.

So I am working with a budget and adjusting meals to try to fit our family.

Here is a look at my Large Grocery Haul for the month.

I made a meal plan for the entire month, and made my shopping list off of that and what we
already had on hand in our refrigerator, pantry, and freezer.

Here is the majority of what I bought

  • 10 lbs potatoes
  • Oranges (clementines)
  • Milk
  • Green Beans
  • Refried Beans
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Jalapeños
  • Diced Tomatoes w/ green chilies
  • Hamburger / Hot Dog Buns
  • Coffee
  • Bacon
  • Carrots
  • Biscuits
  • Several kinds of Cheeses
  • Chips
  • Low Carb Tortilla's
  • Celery
  • Blueberries
  • Broccoli
  • Hot Dogs
  • Brats
  • Onion Soup Mix
  • Gravy Mix
  • Tomatoes
  • Family Pack Chicken Breast
  • 5 lb pkg of chicken drumsticks
  • (not shown: diced ham / sour cream)
  • yogurt
  • eggs

This grocery haul was right around $157.00 (including the tax - which is on the pricey side here)

I have a Meal Plan Binder that I just made from an inexpensive binder I purchased, and then
I made my own charts for it.   I just print them out, use a 3-hole punch and place them in my binder.
(charts available in my etsy shop)

So I start by getting an idea of what we have, and writing down a months worth of meals on a blank calendar page.    Including additional options.
Then I break that down even further by the week with a little more detail onto a weekly chart.

Thats just what I choose to do. lol.
I am not strict with our meal plan.
I will change up what it says often, but I like knowing that
I have the entire month covered with something as an option.   We just aren't going to the
store very often these days, so this helps a lot!

I didn't take a lot of pictures throughout this process (oops!) however,  I did film it so if you
would like to see how I put together several casseroles for the freezer, and made gluten free
pizza crust etc.. please check out the video for much better detail including of the actual
grocery haul.

Some of the things I have planned out:
  • Pizza Night
  • Taco's
  • Ranch Chicken
  • Comfort Chicken
  • Chips n Chicken casserole
  • Chicken Jalapeno Popper Casserole
  • Chili
  • Eggs (muffin style) or also called Egg Bites
  • Cordon Bleu Casserole
  • Cookout (cheeseburgers/brats)
  • BBQ chicken
  • Spaghetti w/ meatballs and on and on...

We do eat differently so some meals will look different for some people and that is ok.
I do try to make the majority of the meals so we can all enjoy them but that is just not always
the case but we are ok with that, or I will try to adjust some meals a bit to fit.

An example is pizza night, I use low carb pita bread for our crust, and we make gluten free
crust for our daughter.  (making the pizza crust shown in video)
We can still all eat pizza, just looks a bit different. 😜

I hope you all have a great week and I will add the video as well as a lot of the item details
(the items that I used in the video) below.

I am curious.. do you say ground beef or hamburger when cooking ground beef/hamburger? Lol.
I actually say it both ways and I am just curious what do you say? 😁
