DIY Wreath Ideas Using Items on Hand

Good morning!

I am back with another diy project.
I wanted to see what I could come up with and make a wreath or door hanger for Valentines Day.
If you saw my previous post / video, then you know I am on a mission to simplify and declutter our home, so I am only using items that I had on hand in my craft room.

I actually decided to try out 2 different ideas.

The first wreath I chose to use a styrofoam wreath I had purchased previously at dollar tree, some buffalo plaid ribbon, valentines day themed ribbon (also from dollar tree),  a small heart sign that I had saved from a project last year, and I also ended up using some red/white twine.

I started by wrapping the wreath form with my buffalo check ribbon.

I used a little hot glue to secure the end onto the wreath, and I am really liking how the buffalo check
ribbon looks on it.

The next thing I did was make a simple single loop bow with the heart themed ribbon, attached it with hot glue as well and then I added the little heart sign to the center.

I felt like it needed a hint of red around the rest of the wreath so I found some red/white twine
in my craft room and wrapped that around the wreath as well.

I think that added so much to the wreath and really ties it all together.

Then I simply made a loop with the twine and used hot glue to attach it to the back of my wreath for a hanger and this simple wreath idea is done, and I think it turned out to be a fun addition to add
to our home for Valentines day.

The next idea I had I gathered up some random things again.

I wanted to use the little basket, and the metal welcome sign, and then I also picked out the LOVE sign, some glitter heart ribbon, and a bow that I had purchased at Christmas and never used.

I started with the basket, and using the metal welcome sign I used hot glue to attach it.

It fit perfectly across the basket.

Then I added the bow using hot glue as well.

I wanted to use the corrugated metal heart off of the LOVE sign, so I removed that and used hot glue to attach it to the center of the bow.

I thought it went really well with the metal welcome sign.

I needed a way to hang it so I used the smaller heart ribbon to tie a simple loop at the top.

While I think it turned out cute,  I had an antique wood frame on hand so I decided to see if it fit
around it and it did.

I think it adds a little bit to it.

So I am curious do you decorate for Valentines day?  A lot, a few little touches, or not at all.

Blessings,
 - Tina
