Good Morning!
Today I am sharing how I took an old table and turned it into a beautiful farmhouse style
coffee table for our living room and I am loving how it turned out!
I had been wanting to change up our coffee table and knew we had this old table in the garage.
It was dirty, and somehow missing the bottom shelf, but I knew it was solid wood and had a slate
center and it matches our sofa table we have had in our living room for years!
So I decided to finally tackle this project and give it a makeover.
So here is a look at the grungy before.. 😬
The first thing I did was find some scrap wood, cut it down to size, and replace the missing bottom shelf.
Then I got to work sanding the wood to prepare the surface for paint or stain.
I chose to paint the bottom part of the table a pretty shade of bright white.
Then I took some sandpaper to go over the bottom of the table and distress it.
I wanted it to have that rustic look and have some of the wood color underneath show through.
The last thing I did was put a coat of polycrylic on the top of the table in a clear matte finish.
I absolutely love how this table turned out.
Here is the Before:
Love them!
I also ended up darkening the frame on the large picture on the wall to match the darker wood. 😆
Such a transformation!

Wow!!! That came out beautiful! I refurbished a bookcase I found at the thrift store. Now I'm trying to talk my husband into letting me give it a go on his wardrobe! LOL
